Firefighters must be trained to deal with any emergency situation. This includes much more than just fires, car accidents and medical emergencies. The Special Operations Team is broken down into the different disciplines of Water/Ice rescue, Trench Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue and Hazardous Materials.
All firefighters are trained to NFPA 1670 standards at an operations level.
