Registration Open for 2017 Police Department Youth Academy

Registration is open for the 2017 Cedar Rapids Police Department Youth Academy.  Students entering Kindergarten through 8^th Grade have the opportunity to learn more about being a Police Officer and serving the community by participating in a Youth Academy at the Cedar Rapids Police Department, 505 1^st Street SW.

Youth Academy participants will get a tour of the police station and learn about diverse areas within the Police Department including Uniforms, K-9 Unit, Special Response Team, Crime Scene Unit, Physical Training and more. 

The Academy will be held from 9:00 a.m. until Noon on the following dates:

• June 14^th and June 15^th  (For students entering 6^th Grade through 8th Grade)
• June 21^st and June 22^nd (For students entering 4^th Grade through 5^th Grade)
• June 28^th and June 29^th (For students entering 2^nd Grade through 3^rd Grade)
• July 12^th and July 13^th (For students entering Kindergarten through 1^st Grade) 

Early registration is recommended as class sizes are limited.  Cost of the Academy is $25 and participants must have parental permission to participate.  Students who have not previously attended a Youth Academy will be given first preference.
