Take a Summer Trip with Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Special Populations Program

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – May 26, 2017 – Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation is offering the following trips this summer for special populations:

Blank Park Zoo & Zombie Burger – This trip for ages 16 and up is on Thursday, June 15. The van will depart at 7:30 a.m. from the Northwest Recreation Center and return at 6:00 p.m. Participants will tour the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines and stop at Zombie Burger on the way home. They should bring money for lunch. The price of a Zombie Burger is included in the trip fee: $45 residents, $52 non-residents. Register for program #108709-01 by June 8.

Lost Island – A trip to this water park in Waterloo is scheduled for Monday, June 26 for ages 16 and up. The van will depart at 9:30 a.m. from the Northwest Recreation Center and return at 5:00 p.m. Participants should bring money for lunch. The trip fee is $45 residents, $52 non-residents. Register for program #108704-01 by June 19.

Adventureland – Those ages 10 and up will enjoy this trip to the amusement park in Altoona on Monday, July 10. The van will depart at 7:30 a.m. from the Northwest Recreation Center and return at 9:00 p.m. Participants should bring a swimsuit and towel and money for meals. The trip fee is $45 residents, $52 non-residents. Register for program #108701-01 by July 3.

Iowa State Fair – This trip for ages 16 and up is on August 10. The van will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Northwest Recreation Center and return at 10:00 p.m. Participants should bring money for lunch. The trip fee is $45 residents, $52 non-residents. Register for program #108703-01 by August 3.
