June is National Adopt-a-Cat Month® Adoption Specials!

Finding loving homes for felines is a challenge in any season, and never more so than during the summer months.  Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control has no shortage of cute and cuddly, or mature and mellow, cats and kittens waiting for a new home!  So if you’ve been toying with the idea of adding a furry feline to your family, now is the time to do it.

Each furry feline available in the promotion will be spayed or neutered, have its initial vaccinations, will be dewormed, treated for fleas/ticks, and be given a microchip.  Average cost for those services can run as high as $300, but feline adoption fees at the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control shelter have been reduced to just $25 for any spayed/neutered adult cat and $50 for any spayed/neutered kitten through the end of June.  That’s right! Just a quarter of the usual adoption fee!

And that’s not all…

Cats that have been at the shelter for three months or longer will be offered FREE to senior citizens through our Cat Companions for Seniors program.   Cats adopted to seniors will also go home with their own new litter box, scooper, litter box liners, bowls and a toy!  So be sure to stop by the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control Center located on the Kirkwood College Campus at 900 76th Avenue Drive SW before the end of the month to check out our Adopt-A-Cat specials.

“Don’t forget,” says Diane Webber, Program Manager at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, “when you adopt a cat, you're not only saving a life, but gaining a furry, feline companion that will make your life complete.”
