Suspect Arrested for Armed Robbery
On Saturday, July 8th at 3:17 a.m. a police officer that was on patrol near the Casey’s General Store at 1661 32nd Street NE observed a male standing on the front stoop of the store holding a knife in one hand and a large amount of cash in the other hand. The individual walked along the store parking lot to a parked pickup truck. The police officer directed the individual to drop the knife. After the individual dropped the knife, the officer took the man into custody.
After being taken into custody, the individual, who was identified as Anthony Robert Skriver, DOB/11-23-1997, age 19, of 314 66th Avenue SW, told the officer that he had just robbed the Casey’s General Store.
The subsequent investigation confirmed that the Casey’s General Store was robbed as the suspect went into the store, displayed a knife, and demanded cash. Also, it was determined that Skriver was using a stolen vehicle out of Muscatine. Items inside the vehicle that belonged to Skriver were recovered that contained both marijuana and methamphetamine.
Skriver was arrested for Robbery-1st Degree, Theft-2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief-5th Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine. He was transported to the Linn County Jail.
