Police Station Access during Parking Lot Resurfacing Project
The parking lot at the Cedar Rapids Police Station, 505 1st Street SW, is being resurfaced beginning Monday, July 17th. The project will include resurfacing of the visitor parking lot. While the Police Station main walk-in entrance will remain open, citizens will need to park their vehicles in the 600 block of 1st Street SW on the west side of the road or along 5th Avenue or 6th Avenue SW to the west of the Police Station.
Temporary handicapped parking will be available along 1st Street SW directly north of the main driveway to the Police Station. There will be three handicapped stalls along the curb. Citizens who need assistance with handicap-accessible parking should contact the Police Department at (319) 286-5378 or (319) 286-5491.
There will be a marked lane closure along 1st Street SW in front of the Police Station for official city vehicles only.
The resurfacing project is expected to be completed (weather permitting) by Saturday, July 22nd.
