Urban Deer Hunt - September 15, 2018 to January 10, 2019

 

The City of Cedar Rapids will continue its annual Urban Deer Hunt for the 2018-2019 season as authorized by City Council Resolution # 0762-09-07.  The Urban Deer Hunt is scheduled for September 15, 2018 through January 10, 2019.  Battalion Chief Jason Andrews, program manager, will issue hunting permits upon completion of the following:

  • Completion of the Iowa Bow Hunter’s Safety Course. (one-time only)
  • Completion of an Urban Deer Management application available at Palo Outdoors or on the City’s Web site.
  • Complete an annual proficiency certification test at Palo Outdoors, 1204 1st Street, Palo.
  • Mandatory attendance at the Urban Deer Hunt Rules and Regulations Class (only one

    class required) at Palo Outdoors, 1204 1st Street, Palo. 

 Orientation session dates are:

– Wednesday, August 15th – 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. 

– Saturday, August 25th – 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. 

– Wednesday, August 29th – 6:00 -7:30 p.m. 

– Wednesday, September 5th – 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. 

Hunting permits will be issued at the end of the Urban Deer Hunt Rules and Regulations class, provided all items have been completed.  For complete information, visit the City’s Web site at www.cedar-rapids.org/fire.
