Emergency Notifications

Cedar Rapids has two methods for notifying residents of an existing emergency. We encourage signing up for both.

NOTE:
These systems are independent of each other. To participate in both you must sign up separately.

Linn County Code Red System: Click here to get started.

Code Red Signup Linn County has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action. The system is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number. Click here to get started.

CR-ALERT Text Notifications: THIS IS NOT CODE RED! CLICK ABOVE FOR CODE RED!

This email-based notification system is not affilated with CODE RED. Please click above if you want to sign up for CODE RED.

This email-based notification system is designed for emergency notifications within the Cedar Rapids area. It will be used in Emergencies specific to the Cedar Rapids area. This system is only to be used as a supplement to CODE RED, or any other area notification system already in place.

Fill out the form and click "subscribe" to sign up for text notifications to an email address from the City of Cedar Rapids.
