Code Enforcement Services - Project #0708-013

Scope of Work:
As the flood waters began to recede the City Council put a hold on all building permits in the flood impacted areas to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents.  Starting July 3, 2008 the City started to allow some non-structural building permits for properties located outside of the 100 year flood plain.  Due to the amount of properties impacted by the floods, building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspections will increase exponentially with recovery efforts.  The City of Cedar Rapids currently does not have the staff required to efficiently and effectively enforce the expected increase in code enforcement issues along with the day-to-day inspections of properties outside of the flood-impacted area.  The City is in need of additional temporary qualified code enforcement services to meet the expectations of its residents.  Due to the urgency of this request, turnaround time is short.
