Vendor Licenses
Anyone operating a food truck, food stand or food cart must submit a completed license application, a copy of their food service license from the Linn County Public Health Department and a Certificate of Liability Insurance to the City Clerk's Office. Operators of drivable vehicles must include a copy of the vehicle registration. All new applicants must also provide color photographs of the vending unit. Vendors wishing to secure a reserved parking space in the City’s downtown area will need to submit the application to the City Clerk’s Office before applying with Park Cedar Rapids.
Fee:
$550 for an annual license,
$300 for six months or
$100 for one week.
$50 of the application fee is non-refundable if the mobile food vendor license is denied or if the application is withdrawn prior to issuance.

Vending in Parks
Transient merchants
Anyone holding a temporary outdoor sale of goods or services must submit a completed license application and proof of the property owner's permission to the City Clerk's Office. A $1,000 surety bond, a Certificate of Liability Insurance and a copy of the applicant's valid government issued photo ID must also be supplied.
Transient merchants are licensed for a specific location, and the sale cannot last longer than seven days or take place more than once every 30 days in the same location. Personal garage sales are not subject to this licensing requirement.
Transient merchants shall not operate between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., unless immediately adjacent to a Residential Zone District and then a transient merchant shall not operate between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
$100 for a one-week license.
$50 of the application fee is non-refundable if the transient merchant license is denied.

Solicitors
Anyone selling goods or services door-to-door must submit a completed license application and criminal history background check form to the City Clerk's Office. A $1,000 surety bond, a Certificate of Liability Insurance and a copy of the applicant's valid government issued photo ID must also be supplied.
Solicitors may operate between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
Fee:
$170 for an annual license, plus $15 for the Iowa criminal history background check.
$50 of the application fee is non-refundable if the solicitor license is denied.
