Annexations
The City reviews all annexation requests to ensure the land being annexed into the City of Cedar Rapids meets the City's goals for growth, and that public services are available to the area. All territory annexed into the City of Cedar Rapids is assigned a zone district classification within ninety (90) days after annexation. Annexations are approved by the City Council and the State of Iowa.
Applications can be submitted to the Development Services Department at any time to developmentservices@cedar-rapids.org.
