The Cedar Rapids Fire Department(CRFD) is committed to making our community safer and preventing emergencies. CRFD is focused on hosting and attending community events which are safety focused and allow meaningful educational opportunities. Emergency Preparedness
Cedar Rapids Police and Fire Department employees engage in community outreach programming to share important safety education with the public. A series of monthly, informational messages relating to emergency preparedness is available through the Neighborhood P.A.C.T. program and distributed at Neighborhood Association meetings.

Does your business want to be instructed on the proper use of a fire extinguisher?

Juvenile Fire Intervention
Is your child involved with fire setting and do you want a resource to help?

Kids' Camp Opportunities
Does your child want to learn about fire and life safety? 

Urban Deer Hunt
The Fire Department manages the City's urban deer management program.

Do you need help installing or maintaining your smoke alarms?

Firefighters will help install smoke alarms or change batteries in smoke alarms for senior citizens and those with physical disabilities in Cedar Rapids. Please contact the Fire Department at 319-286-5218 if you need assistance.

The Fire Department has partnered with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and St. Florian Fire & Burn Foundation to bring you important scald prevention safety information.
