Center Point Road between Lincoln Avenue and J Avenue will re-open to one lane of traffic, southbound, in the late afternoon this Friday, September 29th. The roadway has been closed for approximately six weeks for utility and roadway improvements.
When re-opened, traffic will be traveling in the east lane. The west lane will be closed to allow for the construction of a sidewalk on the west side of the roadway.
The intersection of Center Point Road and H Avenue will remain closed and detours will remain in place for approximately 1-2 more weeks while the roadway pavement is completed within the intersection.
Traffic Impacts beginning Friday, September 29th:
- The intersection of Center Point Road and H Avenue remains closed and detours will remain in place
- Center Point Road will be one-way, southbound, including through the intersection at H Avenue
- Access is maintained for residents
- All businesses are open and access is maintained
Project Background:
This is Phase 2 of a two-phase project. Construction will begin in July of 2023 and will be complete in late Fall of 2024.
Planned Improvements:
The project on Center Point Road NE stretches from Lincoln Avenue to H Avenue. Improvements include pavement reconstruction, sidewalk replacement, ADA sidewalk ramps, on-street bike lanes, utilities (water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer), and conversion of the roadway from one-way to two-way traffic.
