Our Mission:
To maintain trees and woody vegetation along City right-of-ways, parks and golf courses. The program also supports other departments, as necessary, for aerial personnel lifts and detailed functions such as snow plowing.


Services Provided:
The Forestry Program is responsible for planting and maintaining trees and woody vegetation along City right-of-ways, parks and golf courses. Assistance is also provided to other City departments and organizations by, among other things, plowing snow and putting up flags.

Tree Planting
Check here for the various tree lists for the City, including a list of trees suitable for planting in Cedar Rapids and a list of trees that are prohibited in the right-of-way.

Tree Removal
The City trims and/or removes unsafe trees from the right-of-way.
