This multi-year project included total pavement reconstruction, water main and storm sewer improvements, sidewalk and ADA sidewalk ramp improvements, and the addition of on-street bike lanes. This is the final construction update for this project.
The Oakland Road/Old Marion Road corridor has been improved over the past several years including:
- 2016 – Oakland Road from H Avenue to J Avenue
- 2018 – Oakland Road from J Avenue to 32nd Street
- 2020 – Old Marion Road from Regent Street to C Avenue
The reconstruction of the intersection of Oakland Road and 32nd Street this year, including upgrading the traffic signals, will complete the corridor and result in over two and half miles of improvements.
Construction began in 2021 with the section from Center Street to Miami Court. The section from Miami Court to just short of Regent Street was constructed in 2022. The last few hundred feet of the project will be complete in early Spring this year.
Planned Improvements:
The project on Oakland Road/Old Marion Road NE stretches from Center Street to Regent Street. Improvements include full pavement reconstruction, on-street bike lanes, sidewalk and ADA sidewalk ramp improvements, and utilities (water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer).
