Storm Drain Marking
Sign up to add a pollution prevention message to the storm drains in your neighborhood. Storm drain markers help educate the public on the importance of preventing stormwater pollution, by raising awareness about the connection between storm drains and receiving water bodies. The markers remind people that what goes in the drain, including items we use around our home and yard, ends up in our local streams and rivers.
The City of Cedar Rapids has storm drain marker kits available to residents for leading neighborhood storm drain marker events. To request a kit email the application form to sewer@cedar-rapids.org or mail to:

Adopt-A-Storm Drain
Sign up to adopt a storm drain near your work or home, committing to keeping them clear of leaves and other debris year round. Clearing storm drains of debris keeps these materials from reaching receiving waters as well as keeps storm drains from clogging which helps prevent local flooding.
