The Veterans Memorial Building is located in downtown Cedar Rapids on Mays Island, between 1st and 2nd Avenue Bridges.
  • The mailing address for the main entrance is: 50 2nd Avenue Bridge, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52401. This entrance faces the Linn County Courthouse.

  • Veterans Memorial Commission office entrance: 51 1st Avenue Bridge, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.  This entrance faces Quaker Oats.  For more information call 319-286-5038 or t.young@cedar-rapids.org
Main entrance open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The building is used for many tenants, organizations, businesses, clubs, and the veterans gym. The veterans gym is available to veterans and their spouses between 7 am and 6 pm, M - F only.   The current directory lists contact information and hours of operation.

The 2nd Avenue entrance is the main entrance to the building and Grant Wood Memorial window. 
The 1st Avenue entrance accesses the Veterans Memorial Commission/Building office weekdays and will be open when there is an event in the Ballroom.

The Veterans Memorial Building is open to the public on the following City holidays:
Memorial Day 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
November 11th, Veterans Day 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Veterans Memorial Building is closed to the public on the following City holidays:

Good Friday
July 4th, Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving & Friday after
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
