Cedar Valley Nature Trail Construction to begin April 30

Beginning Thursday, April 30, the Cedar Valley Nature Trail will be closed between J Avenue NE and McCloud Run Place. The trail section will be closed through Friday, May 8 with the exception of being open during the weekend of May 2 and 3. It will close again on May 4. Trail users traveling southbound may detour south on Center Point Road NE, then west on J Avenue NE. Northbound trail users may detour east on J Avenue NE, north on Oakland Road NE, west on 32^nd Street NE, then north on Center Point Road to return to McCloud Place. The closure will allow trail repairs and an asphalt overlay to be completed from J Avenue to 29^th Street NE.

In addition, starting Monday, May 4, the Cedar Valley Nature Trail will be closed between 8th Avenue SE and 11th Avenue SE (adjacent to Parking Lot 44 in NewBo), for approximately three weeks. The work is associated with private utility relocations in advance of future construction on the NewBo flood levee. Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to follow the posted detour along 2^nd Street between 7^th Avenue SE and 12^th Avenue SE.
