Animal Care & Control Shelter Construction Update

Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, located at 7241 Washington View Parkway SW, will be implementing an appointment only policy for adoptions, surrenders, and incoming strays due to construction around the facility.

Currently, there are construction improvements ongoing around the front entrance and Animal Care and Control staff want to keep guests safe.  By calling (319) 286-5993 and scheduling an appointment, Animal Care and Control staff can meet with those wishing to adopt, surrender, or drop off a stray animal and escort them safely to the appropriate area of the building.

Those seeking to adopt an animal are also encouraged to complete an adoption application prior to arrival to help facilitate the process. Adoption applications are available at www.cedar-rapids.org/animal. 

Individuals seeking to reclaim or surrender animals, as well as drop off stray animals, should also call (319) 286-5993 to make an appointment.

Shelter hours are Monday through Saturday from Noon to 5:00 p.m.
