Downtown Flood Control System Project Updates

Several Flood Control System projects are planned or underway in Downtown Cedar Rapids. Review the updated project list and timelines below.
- 1. Tree of Five Seasons
- April 25 | 1st Street NE closed between A Avenue NE and 1st Avenue East through the end of May
- 2. 1st Avenue East Gate
- May 22 | Traffic control switched from north side of project to south side
- July 15 | Work begins on the south portion of the 1st Avenue East intersection with 1st Street SE, through the end of July
- August 3 | Contractor starts installation of roller gate. Work continues through the end of August
- 3. CRST/3rd Avenue SE Pump Station
- July 5 | Early start date
- 4. 1st Street SE Storm Sewer from 3rd Avenue to 5th Avenue
- Now | 4th Avenue SE to 5th Avenue SE, through early May
- May 2 | 3rd Avenue SE to 4th Avenue SE will begin the first week of May, closing the 1st Street SE and 3rd Avenue SE intersection for the remainder of the project, through mid June
- 5. 1st Avenue West Rehabilitation & Storm Sewer Work
- April 20 | 1st Avenue West lane closures
