Tour Cedar Rapids Trails with Annual “Ride the Districts!” Bike Ride

May 31, 2024

Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the local trail system in Cedar Rapids by joining the annual “Ride the Districts!” bike ride at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 8.

The 15-mile ride starts and ends at Prairie Park Fishery. Ride highlights include some of our most popular trail stops: Indian Creek Nature Center, Bever Park, VanVechten Park, and two of the Sac & Fox Trailheads. Ron Griffith, City of Cedar Rapids Traffic Engineer, will lead the educational ride.

“Bicycle facilities benefit not only cyclists, but the entire community,” said Griffith. “Cedar Rapids residents benefit from the public health, economic, safety, and environmental advantages of a connected bicycle network. As our network grows, more people are able to complete point A to point B trips on a bike. This ride will be a great opportunity for people who love to ride bikes to explore great facilities with which they might not be familiar.”

The ride features both paved and unpaved segments. Registration, more information, and route map can be viewed at: CityofCR.com/BikeCR.
