Affordable Housing Commission Accepting Applications


The City of Cedar Rapids’ Affordable Housing Commission is accepting applications. Residents who have an interest in assuring families have access to safe and affordable housing in Cedar Rapids can apply online or call the Clerk's office.

The purpose of the Affordable Housing Commission is to identify housing needs of low-to-moderate income citizens, recommend effective strategies and programs to meet area needs, and assist in implementing activities that support housing goals in Cedar Rapids.

The Commission will meet 3 to 4 times per year. Activities include: review tax credit applications received by the City, discuss opportunities to leverage resources based on local needs, and identify legislative issues that may include new trends or barriers to access programs.

Members shall be appointed by the Mayor and are subject to the approval of City Council. Initial members will be appointed for 1 to 3-year terms.

The application deadline is July 31, 2018.
