CR Transit will be closed on Memorial Day and will not provide bus service.
Normal bus service will resume on Tuesday, May 31st.

Transit Service Changes Scheduled for June 2022
Cedar Rapids Transit will resume Saturday bus service, implement summer seasonal reductions of peak bus service, and adjust the schedule of Route 10 beginning in June.
- Saturday Service
- Fixed-route bus service will resume on all routes beginning Saturday, June 11th with buses departing the GTC from 9:15 am to 4:15 pm.
- Seasonal Peak Service Reduction
- Peak bus service will be temporarily reduced on Routes 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, and 12 beginning Monday, June 6th. The reduced peak bus service is scheduled to resume prior to the start of school in late August.
- Routes 6 and 8 will continue to have peak bus service throughout the summer months.
- Route 10 Schedule Adjustment
- The schedule for Route 10 will shift to departures every 45 minutes from the GTC beginning Monday, June 6th.
Q. What should I know about using Cedar Rapids Transit right now?
- No fares are collected at this time so please do not dwell near the farebox or driver.
- There is no Saturday service at this time.
The City will continue to partner with Horizons/NTS and Linn County LIFTS to fill in any transportation service gaps. Adjustments will be made as necessary and as conditions change.
- Neighborhood Transportation Service (NTS) at Horizons will be expanding their after-hours service to provide day-time rides to work for those with critical employment transportation needs such as work at hospitals, grocery stores, care facilities, and convenience stores/gas stations. To schedule a ride, citizens should call 319-363-1321 at least 24 hours in advance. For more information about NTS services, schedules and regulations visit www.horizonsfamily.org.
- Linn County LIFTS paratransit service will continue to provide rides to existing customers for essential services including medical trips, pharmacy, dialysis or grocery. All other persons in need of essential medical transportation can contact LIFTS at 319-892-5170 to see if rides are available. Priority will be given to seniors and persons with disabilities. Vehicle capacity will be limited to follow social distancing protocols.
Cedar Rapids Transit provides safe, courteous, and dependable public bus service throughout the city that is open to the general public, including persons with disabilities.
