Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Safety Protocol
PURPOSE
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have modified our program policy to reflect the most recent Governor's proclamation.
NOTICE
Failure to abide by these requirements may result in dismissal from programs and facilities. A refund will not be issued in light of this violation.
- If you have been sick in the last two weeks or have a cough, fever or other flu-like symptoms, stay home for the health and safety of yourself and others.
- Masks are required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals inside City buildings.
- Unvaccinated individuals should wear a mask when they are unable to maintain a minimum social distance of six feet.
- Practice good hygiene - Wash hands with soap and water; use hand sanitizer (especially after touching surfaces); Avoid touching face, and sneeze or cough into a tissue.
OLD MACDONALD'S FARM
- Unvaccinated individuals should wear a mask when they are in the barn or unable to maintain a minimum social distance of six feet.
- Farm hours are from 9:00 a.m. - Noon on Monday/Tuesday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday - Saturday. The farm is closed on Sundays.
- Tours or field trips must be reserved prior to visiting the farm. Large groups will not be allowed without a reservation. Please call 319-286-5763 to schedule.
- Absolutely NO outside animals are to enter the farm.
OUTDOOR YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS
PRIOR TO MAKING A REGISTRATION/RESERVATION, YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RESTRICTIONS. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in dismissal from the program. A refund will not be issued in light of this violation.
Follow the General Safety Protocol in addition to the following:
- Contact drills and games will be limited to allow for more social distancing.
PRIOR TO MAKING A REGISTRATION/RESERVATION, YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RESTRICTIONS. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in dismissal from the program. A refund will not be issued in light of this violation.
Follow the General Safety Protocol in addition to the following:
- If you become sick or subject to exposure between the period of registration and the start of the event/program, contact Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation at least one day in advance to receive a refund.
- Masks are required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals inside City buildings.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS PROGRAMS
PRIOR TO MAKING A REGISTRATION/RESERVATION, YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RESTRICTIONS. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in dismissal from the program.
Follow the General Safety Protocol in addition to the following:
- Athletes and coaches must sign a waiver.
- Coaches must complete an online Covid-19 course.
- Unvaccinated athletes must arrive and depart wearing a mask.
- Athletes are not required to wear a mask during play.
- Athletes and coaches who are high risk should wait until the risk is lower before participating.
- Social distancing is encouraged.
- Spectators are allowed at practices.
- Competitions could be virtual or in-person.
SWIM LESSONS
PRIOR TO MAKING A REGISTRATION/RESERVATION, YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RESTRICTIONS. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in dismissal from the program. A refund will not be issued in light of this violation.
Follow the General Safety Protocol in addition to the following:
- A class may be canceled due to low enrollment.
- Masks are required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals inside City buildings. (i.e. Bender Pool, locker rooms, bathrooms)
- Wear a mask when you enter the building and remove it only when in the water.
- Locker rooms are open and available. Patrons are encouraged to come dressed to swim. Everyone must social distance and are asked to limit their time in the locker room to a few minutes.
- Arrive dressed to swim, five minutes ahead of time.
