Welcome to Parks OperationsThe Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department manages over 106 parks and trails on over 4,171 acres of land. In addition to urban parks of all sizes, there are many acres held in reserve for future park expansion and flood control. Athletic fields, baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, BMX dirt track, disc golf courses, gardens, off-leash dog exercise areas, pavilions, picnic areas, playgrounds, and restrooms, splash pads, trails, volleyball courts abound throughout the system.
The Department also operates the Noelridge Park Greenhouse and flower gardens, Old MacDonald's Farm, Ushers Ferry Historic Village, Tait Cummins Sport Complex and Tuma Sports Complex.
The full service park season for the availability of restrooms, drinking fountains, pavilion rentals and general day-to-day operating conveniences is May 4 through September 29, 2024. As spring unfolds, water is turned on in the larger parks first and the smaller parks follow. Park hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

No person shall bring, use, consume, or have in his or her possession alcohol, wine, or beer in the following city parks located in the City of Cedar Rapids at any time:
