From Fall through November 19, the City of Cedar Rapids hosts a free tire disposal event. Cedar Rapids residents can dispose of up to 8 car and/or small truck tires for free. Residents must present a ticket (found in your Municipal Utility Bill) to participate in this event.

Tires can be dropped off Monday-Friday between 7 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and by appointment only on Saturdays, at 1954 County Home Rd., Marion, IA (Near Hwy 13 at County Home Road). Appointments can be scheduled here: https://www.solidwasteagency.org/appointment-scheduling

Tires
Up to 8 car or small truck tires with rims on or off can be dropped off with no charge.

More than 8 Tires
If you bring more than eight car or small truck tires you will be charged $3.00 for each tire.

If you bring more than 16 tires total you will be charged the normal $0.15 per pound for the tires. Larger tires (semi, tractor) will be weighed and charged $0.15 per pound. Quartered or cut tires are not accepted.
