Cedar Rapids Municipal Utilities partners with Paymentus to provide various payment means and formats.
Through Paymentus, we accept ACH/eCheck with no transaction fees, debit card, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express), and PayPal. Payments can be made online, by phone, or in person at your local WalMart and locations offering GreenDot payments. Learn more about payment options.
Using a Credit Card to pay a Reconnection Fee, Start of Service Deposit or to Avoid Disconnection
If you are using a credit card payment to pay a reconnection fee, start of service deposit or to avoid disconnection:
- Follow the instructions below to pay the fee online or by phone.
- Make note of your confirmation number.
- Call Customer Service at 319-286-5900 to report your confirmation number.
Credit Card payments are not posted to your account until the following day. Calling with your confirmation number is the best way to avoid problems. There is a $750.00 limit per transaction.
*PLEASE NOTE: If your service has been disconnected due to nonpayment or you have received notification of a returned NSF payment, we will require a cash, money order, or credit card payment only for these transactions. We will not accept a regular check or a phone or web e-check on these transactions. If you have any questions, please call customer service at 319-286-5900.
Paying Online
Paymentus applies a convenience fee for online payments unless you are making an ACH/eCheck payment. To pay online, choose an option below. You will be directed to a secure website.
To make a one-time payment, you will need to enter your municipal utility account number and billing zip code (where your utility bill is mailed). You will then be directed to the payment screen where you can complete your transaction.
You may set up a Paymentus Customer Portal account to expedite future payments if desired. Please save this password information to access your account for future online payments.
