Firefighters battle a house fireThe Cedar Rapids Fire Department offers firefighting, emergency medical services, and fire prevention to over 128,000 citizens. The fire department has prevention programs, special operations, and hazardous materials teams to meet the growing needs of the community. We strive to make our city a safer place to live, work, and visit.

WHAT'S NEW?

The 2018-2019 Urban Deer Hunt will be held from Saturday, September 15, 2018 through January 10, 2019. Please see the Urban Deer Hunt page on our website for more information and 2018-2019 Urban Deed Hunt Application.

In August of 2018, the Cedar Rapids Fire Department will offer the 2nd Annual Fully Involved: Young Women's Fire Academy. Fully Involved is designed to introduce young women between the ages of 15-20 to firefighting as a career. Applications accepted March 15th - July 15th, 2018.

Kids Camp Opportunities include Safe Kid's Hero's Safety Camp for children ages 6 - 8 being held at the Cedar Rapids Fire Department July 16th - July 20th from 9am - noon.

The Fire Department offers monthly safety presentations for older adults and families.  It's a community-based program called "Safety Scoop."  Please join us for interesting topics each month.
