Shooting Incident at 2110 Westdale Drive SW (Update #1)

The 18-year old female who was wounded in a shooting incident on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2110 Westdale Drive SW has been pronounced deceased.  The victim has been identified as Marisa Doolin, DOB/10-15-2002, age 18, of Cedar Rapids.  

The Police Department has been notified by the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office that Doolin was declared legally deceased on Saturday, December 26, 2020. 

There is an ongoing homicide investigation.  There have been no arrests at this time, however there is an active investigation.

Police officers responded to 2110 Westdale Drive SW to a second floor apartment for a shooting incident at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22.  Officers arrived on scene to find an 18-year old female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound.  Police officers and firefighters, along with Area Ambulance Service personnel, performed emergency medical care.  The victim was transported to a local hospital, and subsequently the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for her injuries.  

There is an ongoing investigation into the shooting.  No arrests have been made at this time.
