Cedar Rapids Transit Announces Bus Route and Schedule Changes

Cedar Rapids Transit is announcing bus route and schedule changes, effective Tuesday, Sept. 5. Changes are as follows:
Ground Transportation Center (GTC)
- Weekday buses will depart the GTC beginning at 5:30 a.m.
- The last departure for all weekday buses at the GTC will be extended by one hour to 7:15 p.m.
- Peak bus service on Routes 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 will have morning departures at 6:45, 7:45, and 8:45 a.m.
- Peak bus service on Routes 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8 will have afternoon departures at 1:45, 2:45, 3:45, and 4:45 p.m.
Route 1
This bus route will change to use 6th St. to Ellis Blvd. NW instead of 5th St. to E Ave. NW outbound.
Route 6
This bus route will change to use 3rd Ave. SE to 10th St. instead of 2nd Ave. SE to 10th St. outbound.
Route 7
This bus route will change to remain on C St. SW, instead of going through the Transamerica parking lot, and will then continue on C St. SW past Kraft Heinz to 41st Ave. Dr. SW to Bowling St. SW.
Route 8
This bus route will change to use 6th St. to Ellis Blvd. to A/B Ave. NW outbound and B/A Ave. NW to Ellis Blvd. to 6th St. inbound.
Route 20
This bus route will change to use 8th Ave. to 7th St. to 7th Ave. inbound.
Route 30
This bus route will change to add a bus stop on the north side of Lindale Mall near HuHot Mongolian Grill.
