Input Sought for Westside Library Park

September 21, 2023

The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking input on a future park adjacent to the Westside Library to be constructed at the corner of Wiley Boulevard and 20th Avenue SW. A public meeting will be held at the Ladd Library on Wednesday, September 27, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. for individuals to share their priorities and vision. There will not be a formal presentation at the open house, so people can stay for as long or as little as they’d like. “We are excited about this project that will meet the need for additional green space in this neighborhood and allow joint programming opportunities with the library. This will be a unique park unlike any other in the system,” said Hashim Taylor, Director of Parks and Recreation.

Community input is needed to determine desired aesthetic and character elements for the park. Participants will rank their preferences based on the images provided and a draft concept plan will be presented to solicit feedback. Staff will be available to discuss the project in more detail and answer questions. Input will be used to finalize the park concept plan. Find out more about the project at www.CityofCR.com/WestsideLibraryPark.
