The City of Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department will hold the official City tree lighting on Saturday, December 2 at Greene Square, 400 4th Avenue SE. This year’s tree is a 25 to 30 foot spruce donated by the Gingrich family who will light the tree at 5:30 p.m. following remarks by Mayor Tiffany O’Donnell. The tree lighting ceremony will be preceded by family activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the park. The event is free and open to the public.
