LightLine Loop Public Information Meeting to be Held Wednesday

The City of Cedar Rapids invites the public to preview nearly completed designs for the LightLine Loop project and to learn about construction timing and related impacts during an information meeting to be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5–6:30 p.m. at City of Cedar Rapids City Services Center, Time Check Hall, 500 15th Ave SW.

The LightLine Loop project is in its final design phase, with construction scheduled to occur from Spring 2025 through Summer 2026. The public presentation will provide insights into the project's progress and outline the anticipated timeline for construction activities, including anticipated lane and road closures, detours, trail closures, and impacts on bike/pedestrian routes.

About the LightLine Loop: The LightLine Loop is part of the City's plans to revive a large area of nearly vacant parcels damaged in the 2008 Flood. The space is being reimagined as a vibrant community gathering place ideal for both residents and visitors alike. This project is an extension of the adopted 2019 Czech Village/New Bohemia Action Plan, which takes a comprehensive look at the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for the area. The LightLine Loop project is anticipated to be complete by Fall 2026. More information can be found on the project website, CityofCR.com/LightLineLoop.
