City of Cedar Rapids Launches Payment System for Non-Utility Billing

February 8, 2022

After successful implementation of a new digital payment system for utility bills in November 2021, the City of Cedar Rapids has now launched a similar enhanced digital payment system for non-utility bill types, including:

  • Rental Property Management Fees
  • False Burglar Alarm Fees
  • Fire Inspection, Permit, & False Alarm Fees
  • Public Improvement Assessments
  • Nuisance Abatements
  • Other/Miscellaneous Billing

The new system provides improved payment capabilities, enabling users to manage their bills faster, easier, and more conveniently. Users can quickly register an account, save their preferred payment method, and subscribe to Auto-Pay or schedule payments for future dates. Customers in a hurry can also choose to make a one-time, non-registered payment. Payments can be made via eCheck/ACH, debit or credit card or by linking a verified PayPal or PayPal Credit account. The eCheck/ACH payment method is completely free of charge to users.

Digital payment capabilities are in collaboration with a third party partner – Paymentus. Paymentus is a leading provider of cloud-based bill payment technology and solutions and is a trusted partner across North America. Paymentus maintains the highest degree of security measures, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Level 1 compliance and certification – the highest level attainable.
